To successfully win public sector contracts, businesses generally need to meet several key requirements that demonstrate their capability, stability, and integrity. While specific criteria vary per tender, common non-negotiables include:
Financial Solvency & Stability: Your business must be solvent and demonstrate a strong financial history, often verified through checks on Companies House records. This assures awarding bodies of your ability to deliver on the contract.
Operational Capacity & Size: You must be able to demonstrate that your business is large enough and has the operational capacity to effectively support the scope and demands of the tender. This isn’t just about employee numbers, but also infrastructure, resources, and proven delivery models.
Established Trading History: Most public sector tenders require businesses to have been trading for a minimum period, typically over 12 months old. This provides evidence of stability and experience.
Compliance & Accreditations: Adherence to various legal, ethical, and industry-specific compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, Modern Slavery Act, Cyber Essentials, ISO certifications) is often mandatory.
Proven Track Record: The ability to provide relevant case studies and references for similar work delivered successfully in the past.
Neuven Consult helps businesses assess their readiness against these criteria and develop strategies to meet them, ensuring you’re positioned as a credible and capable supplier.
