Does your organisation provide Artificial Intelligence solutions, clinical decision-support technologies or AI-enabled digital transformation services to the NHS and wider healthcare sector?
NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) is developing a new Clinical Artificial Intelligence (CAI) Framework, with an estimated value of £1.2 billion, providing a major opportunity for AI technology suppliers across the UK.
The proposed 8-year Open Framework will provide NHS organisations and the wider health and social care sector with a compliant route to procure innovative AI technologies and associated services.
The framework is designed to support emerging AI solutions throughout its lifetime, allowing suppliers to introduce new technologies as the market develops.
If you offer any of the following solutions, this opportunity may be relevant to your organisation:
- AI-powered diagnostics, radiology, pathology and medical imaging
- Clinical decision-support and intelligent treatment planning
- Predictive analytics, early detection and preventative healthcare
- AI-enabled patient monitoring, virtual care and remote healthcare
- Clinical workflow automation and intelligent documentation
- AI solutions for operational efficiency, workforce and resource management
- Healthcare data analytics, population health and risk prediction
- AI-enabled solutions integrating with NHS England’s Federated Data Platform
- AI implementation, integration, governance and specialist consultancy
The Opportunity
The new framework is expected to be structured around three lots:
- Lot 1 – Direct Clinical Support: AI technologies directly supporting clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and patient care.
- Lot 2 – Indirect Clinical Support: AI solutions supporting clinical operations, administration, workforce efficiency and healthcare service delivery.
- Lot 3 – NHS England Federated Data Platform Solution Exchange (FDP SX): AI-enabled solutions supporting the NHS Federated Data Platform ecosystem.
Why Should Suppliers Be Interested?
With AI adoption becoming an increasingly important part of NHS transformation, this framework represents a significant opportunity for established healthcare technology suppliers, specialist AI developers and innovative SMEs.
The proposed Open Framework structure, combined with direct award mechanisms, is intended to provide an efficient procurement route for NHS buyers whilst creating opportunities for suppliers to introduce new AI solutions.
